Rebecca Mendoza

I am passionate about drawing and work only in dry media. My work focuses on figurative representation. My preoccupation currently is with the exploration of the essence and substance of diverse materials and the qualities of light, air and translucence innate in everyday life. My work often contains representations of human intervention in landscape – electricity cables, phone wires, plane trails and headlights - interventions that are so ubiquitous and familiar they have become an integral feature of the contemporary landscape. I recently moved back to North Wales, having been brought up in Bangor, and am in the process of setting up my studio where I can work and teach.
