Many of you may remember Alison Mercer’s lovely, quirky hangings from her
earlier exhibitions in Ucheldre at the beginning of her career. Now with work
exhibited far and wide, including recently in New York, it is a pleasure to see her latest body of stitched soft sculptures.
Alison employs embroidery to communicate many personal meanings, ancestral, devotional and subliminal, to connect to the world around her. Each object created
becomes a revelation and a token of memory.
Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 2-5pm.
Admission free. If travelling from afar please ring first to make sure the Main Hall isn’t being used for a private function.
