In 2012 participating members works will be exhibited in both the Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead, and the David Hughes Centre, Beaumaris. The 2011 event was very successful and was held from 16 April to 1 May 2011. A copy of the Guide is still available to download. Their work defies easy categorisation,embracing a wide range of styles and media. Another four join in to do other projects. » Calendar Anglesey Performing Arts Weeks 15 - 30 October 2011 Submitted by Mike Gould on 8 September 2011 - 4:16pm Start: 15/10/2011 End: 30/10/2011 The fourth Anglesey Performing Arts Weeks (APAW) takes place this autumn between 15 - 30 October 2011, celebrating and promoting the diverse talent on Anglesey, including music, drama, dance, and the Holyhead Arts Festival. This year for the first time some artists will also open their studios during this period. Anyone still wishing to promote themselves, their organization, or event should contact Heather Evans he@ucheldre.org as soon as possible. There will also be the opportunity to take part in Open Walls in Ucheldre as part of The Big Draw. I make ceramic figures, usually of animals: pigs, wild boar, sheep, cats and horses from 2" to 2ft are the most numerous. They are fired to earthenware temperatures as well as stoneware. Raku techniques are also employed to bring out the fabulous qualities of copper based glazes. The figures are hand modelled individually from the smallest pig to the largest turquoise-blue horse and constitute lively figurative domestic scale sculpture at affordable prices.
